Jewellery Care

Slight variations may be present as all pieces are designed and handmade by Anneke in her home studio. A lot of attention is given to the details of a piece and the variations and markings are considered as the embodiment of a handmade design.

Jewellery that is loved and worn regularly will acquire markings over time as well as tarnish as it comes in contact with air, bronze and brass especially can develop a dark patina.

We believe these markings and change in colour tells your story and shows that the piece is adored. If you prefer a more polished look, we recommend cleaning your pieces with a jewellery polishing cloth.

One of the best ways to keep your jewellery from tarnishing is to wear it. The oil from your skin can help to keep your jewellery clean, by slowing down the tarnishing process.

Avoid to much moisture and exposure to harsh chemicals. When storing your jewellery, especially if you will not be wearing it for a while, we recommend keeping it dry and storing it in a sealable plastic bag/airtight container.

Yellow bronze and brass may cause your skin to turn slightly green, depending on the PH balance of your skin. This happens mostly with rings, due to the close proximity of your skin and the presence of moisture. Necklaces and earrings are usually worn loose enough to avoid this from happening. This change in colour is perfectly safe.
